Rev. Alberta Jones was born in Burke County Georgia. She is a graduate of Delaware State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Education. She also received a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Certificate of Proficiency in Computer Information System from Holy Family College.

Rev. Jones received her religious training from the New Life Bible Institute, and the African Methodist Episcopal Church Ministerial Training Institute. Rev. Jones is a graduate of Lutheran Theological Seminary where she earned a Master of Divinity. She has pursued at Capella University, the world largest learning institution a doctorate in organization and management.

A former teacher in the Philadelphia public school, Rev. Jones is employed by the Department of Defense as a Supervisor in Acquisition Logistics at the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia.

Rev. Jones was appointed November 2007 as Pastor, of Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church, Darby, PA. May 2002 to November 2007, Rev. Jones served as the Pastor, of Wesley African Methodist Episcopal Church, Swarthmore PA. Prior to going to Wesley, Rev. Jones was an Associate Minister at the Morris Brown African Methodist Episcopal Church, Philadelphia, PA.
